FACTORY WARRANTY

WILL AN ECU REMAP VOID MY MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY?

If the dealer will find out that your vehicle has been tuned your factory warranty will be VOIDED.
As a general rule there are 2 different ways to remap an ECU and basically is how a tuner access to the ECU in order to change its parameters:

1. BENCH TUNING

This process is when the ECU is
– physically removed from the vehicle,
– put on a bench,
– opened (aka Cracked),
– connected to a computer,
– remapped by a tuner,
– resealed,
– refitted to the vehicle.
Bench tuning is the most popular tuning method performed in Australia.

When an ECU has been “cracked” and resealed it can be easily noticed by any technician.
So a bench tuning is going to void the factory warranty in most of the cases.

2. OBDII PORT TUNING

This is the most advanced way to tune an ECU and is when a tuner access to the ECU using the OBDII port (same port used by the dealers to access to the vehicle’s computer).

This process does NOT leave any trace behind as there are no physical touches on the vehicle.

WE TUNE MOST OF DIESEL VEHICLES VIA OBDII PORT

A dealer does not have any tool or software to read/understand if values inside ECU’s maps have been changed, so the only way for a dealer to spot a tuning is to drive the vehicle and feel a clear increase of performances.

As we offer a Factory’s ECU software restore (once only), in case you need to claim your factory’s warranty you can bring your vehicle to us and we will re-flash your original files.

In this scenario you won’t have any issue with your factory warranty.
